Feeling the crunch lately? Cost of gas, food, airfare, and nearly everything else getting you down? Well what if your energy costs reached $141 billion a year? What if you're water costs reached upwards of $950 billion a year?
According to a report from researchers at Tufts University commissioned by the Natural Resources Defense Council, the estimated cost of inaction on climate change could cost the U.S. as much as $3.8 trillion annually by 2100. The report takes both a comprehensive outlook as well as a bottom up approach looking at hurricane damage, real estate losses, increased energy costs, and water costs.
So yes, among the more devastating effects that will be caused by increased temperature, sea level rise, and erratic weather events, one more thing to look forward to if nothing is done is a big fat wallop to the U.S. Economy. Overwhelming? Mmm, just a bit, but perhaps the best way to combat feeling overwhelmed is to do something.
Though Senators chose not the continue the debate on the Climate Security Act earlier this month, it did show momentum and support towards comprehensive global warming legislation. And while talking seems to be of little comfort when it seems that action is more desperately needed, it is still an important and needed part of the process to combat this issue. So do something. In the next several months debate surrounding the upcoming presidential election will be a frenzy of policy, fundraising, and speculation. Why not make sure that global warming becomes one of the issues at the forefront of the election? Why not demand to know what real action will be taken by the next president? Demand that the national media make global warming part of the debate here. It may cost you a few minutes away from the pool, but hopefully it won't end up costing you trillions.

You just have to open your eyes
I got a quick question
Why is Everybody talking about how we need to cut down on usage of gas, water, electricity, and pollution. Yes i understand that those things alone are doing a big part of Global Warming. But yet we are only making small steps towards a solution. When the problem is growing faster and faster each day. So this whole recycle thing. only like 15% of humans really recycle everyday. I mean i know for a fact since i live in Texas that Texas is trying to take a stab at pollution. By issuing recycling bins to every house in every neighborhood. But why only the neighborhoods. Why dint they push to get huge recycling bins for restaurants to. I mean just working at these places myself you see the mass of stuff that they just throw away. Every major restaurant gets at least 40 to 50 cardboard boxes every week. And the boxes just get broken down and thrown away. And Bars they go threw an average of 100 to about 300 beer bottles a night and yet all they do is throw it away. Just imagine if those kind of places where forced to Recycle. the amount of garbage would extremely decrease. That and also why don't we push the legislature to gather a team or just get the cons who just sit around anyways. To go threw these huge land fields of trash and get all the recyclable items out of the land fields. And instead of letting these people drive around in these old beat up cars puffing out black smoke and when ever a car breaks down just sending them to some compact plant where the metal just sits there and rot. Why don't we gather up all that metal and reuse it in the new cars we build today. And why do we keep building new houses when we have all these vacant buildings and house's that can be fixed and used again instead of plowing threw fields of grass and trees to clear out room for a new house that nobody is going to buy because the economy is crashing.
I don't know if anybody is actually going to understand where I'm coming from. But just think about what those few things could do to help the future generations.i mean i ma only be 19 but im tired of seeing this barbaric actions by the people of the world.
