Save the Green Owls!

Submitted by ktfinklea on Monday, April 21, 2008.

Earth Day is tomorrow April 22nd, and though the holiday doesn't grant a day off of work, school or the closing of government offices, it is a day to spend at least a little time thinking about the environment.

For those looking for an easy way to give back to the environment..and get a little something in return, you should check out a new CD just released by our friends at Green Owl Records. You'll get unreleased tracks from such artists as Feist, Deerhoof, Muse, and Bloc Party and the Energy Action Coalition will get 100% of the profits. Find the Green Owl Comp at your local Whole Foods, or check your local record store, itunes, amazon....

Every year in Austin, TX a huge gathering of music, film, and media fans assemble for a little thing called South by Southwest. We're at the festival celebrating all things green and celebrating with GOOD Magazine and the Hotel San Jose.

If you're near Austin and want to check out a great event, come to Choose GOOD Austin at the Hotel San Jose. We'll be there tomorrow 12-9pm with a great line-up of bands, an Etsy DIY station, Silk screening by Forward Collective and East End Ink, and the GOOD Photobooth.

OK Polluters: Radiohead, a band that gets global warming

Submitted by BenJervey on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.

Radiohead's an easy band to love. Not just because their the best rock band on the planet (IM-not so-HO), but because they take serious issues seriously, and talk about them with candor, intelligence, and thought. Like global warming.

Consider these tidbits:

Find us at the Download Festival

The itsyournature.org team is all sorts of excited to be guests of Live Nation's Download Festivals, running out the rest of the summer. ItsYourNature will be the exclusive 'green' presence for these events, and we'll have all kinds of excitement planned for the four rapidly approaching dates, starting August 18th at the Tweeter Center in Boston (well, Mansfield, MA technically).

Live Earth to rock the world cool

You may have been wondering just how Al Gore’s been filling his time since decorating his mantle with a much-deserved Oscar for An Inconvenient Truth. Or maybe you’ve already caught wind of the epic day of live day of concerts he’s been planning. It’s called Live Earth, and on this coming Saturday (7/7/07), star-studded lineups will be belting out a global S.O.S.—in this case to “Save Our Selves.”

OMG-- We Need Ideas!

There are prizes, and then there’s the $25 million prize being offered by the world’s most freewheelin’ C.E.O., Virgin–founder Sir Richard Branson. Branson, he of the airline and music fortune, is promising to pony up this princely sum to anyone who can figure out how the heck to “scrub” carbon dioxide out of the Earth’s atmosphere. As the world’s brightest minds start jockeying to win the “Virgin Earth Challenge,” expect to see plans for some tripped-out sky vacuums and carbon-absorbing concoctions. (As you can see, we won’t be banking any of the twenty-five mil.)
