Feds vs. California (round 2)

According to an NRDC press release (seen below) California, along with an alliance of red and blue states and environmental partners, are asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to overturn the Bush administration's attempt to veto California's more stringent standards for car emissions. Since California has seen some of the worst impacts from global warming, it's understandable that they're not too jazzed about having D.C. feds tell them hey have no right to act in response to what's happening in their own backyards. Who knew the gubernator and California could show how quickly legislature can respond to the threat of global warming. As the world's 8th largest economy, California could well be the torch bearer demonstrating how to effectively combine economy and the environment.
