Choose GOOD Austin

Its Your Nature was just recently in Austin, Texas. I gotta say, I LOVE Austin. Austin was named the Greenest City in America and also the third-fastest growing city in America. To the beautiful weather, friendly Texans, incredible food, and their world-renowned live-music festival South By Southwest, or SXSW for short, what more could you need. Well we decided to have Austin play host to our event called Choose Good Austin, a collaboration with GOOD Magazine and the San Jose Hotel where we celebrated all things green and all things SXSW. Our line-up of Kimya Dawson, The Noisettes, Scissors for Lefty, and Mason Jennings were only a few of the awesome musicians to hit our solar powered stage, powered by Sustainable Waves.

Price of admission? FREE! The 1200+ people in attendance had the opportunity to subscribe to GOOD Magazine, which only cost $20! And the best part was that all of that $20 went straight to benefit NRDC, now how's that for a good cause? Subscribers also received a free Loomstate tote bag, which they could custom silkscreen, and bamboo t-shirts from Hope Equity. Tents lined the lot, from the ItsYourNature.org tent educating people to the GOOD Photobooth to FutureNatural, a natural and organic cosmetic company. Participants were hard-pressed to be bored for the live music started right at 12 noon and went all day and into the night. Water was supplied by the sky in the form of Richard's Rainwater, and trust me, water does not get better than Richard's. I found myself halfway through the event a little low on energy, which was not a problem for all I had to do was walk right to Joe's Coffee, which was next door. Joe's Coffee IS the best coffee I've ever had and in keepin it local, they buy their beans from Little City.

Oh Austin. Your progressive lifestyle and laid-back attitude truly inspire me, I miss you already. Look for more videos from SxSW and ItsYourNature's Choose GOOD Austin event coming soon!
